Objects In Mind

Art Exhibition

Works by Hallie Cohen, Elena Sisto, and Robin Tewes

The Exhibition may be viewed Tuesdays from 9:30 to 4:30, Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 5:00pm, and by appointment. Please call 646-422-0544 or email info@philoctetes.org to make arrangements.

The Philoctetes Center presents Objects in Mind, the second in a series of exhibitions related to its roundtable dialogues on creativity and the imaginative process. Employing images of domestic objects, childhood belongings, and evocative spaces, each artist's work calls to mind aspects of the interior world that comprises the palette of the psychoanalytic endeavor. The exhibition runs concurrently with a series of roundtables marking the 150th anniversary of Freud's birth, and addressing the current and future role/significance of psychoanalysis. In keeping with the mission of the Philoctetes Center, future exhibitions will explore relationships between the visual arts and other disciplines.

Exhibition curated by Rebecca Allan and Hallie Cohen.

Robin Tewes, I Do Not Want, oil, 2002

Hallie Cohen, Not Tonight, watercolor, 2004

Elena Sisto, Company, oil on linen, 2004
