Painting and the Literary Impulse

Art Exhibition

Works by Rebecca Allen, Debora Rosenthal, Harriet Shorr and Idelle Weber

The exhibition may be viewed Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00AM to 5:00PM, and by appointment. Please call 646-422-0544 or email info@philoctetes.org to make arrangements.

The five-person exhibition Painting and the Literary Impulse, featuring twenty-three works by five artists, considers the myriad ways artists draw upon literature as a font of inspiration. The works, by Rebecca Allen, Miguel Herrera, Deborah Rosenthal, Harriet Shorr and Idelle Weber, will be on display at the Center from January 1 through March 17. In keeping with the mission of the Center, upcoming exhibitions will explore relationships between the visual arts and other disciplines.
